Originally from Champagne, Séverine Frerson obtained her National Oenology Diploma and a DESS in Oenology at the University of Reims, then gained experience in various Champagne houses, including Piper-Hiedsick where she remained for sixteen years before becoming the cellar master.
She joined Perrier-Jouët in 2018 to prepare for the transition with her predecessor Hervé Deschamps, Cellar Master for Perrier-Jouët during 37 years. In October 2020, Séverine Frerson-Gomez became Maison Perrier-Jouët’s 8th Cellar Master – the first woman to hold this position.
It is now Séverine Frerson’s responsibility to continue to perpetuate the intricate, floral style for which Perrier-Jouët wines are recognized all around the world, while ushering it into a new era. Having evolved in symbiosis with nature since it was founded, Maison Perrier-Jouët is stepping up its environmental initiatives to meet ambitious targets. Navigating the vagaries of climate and spearheading new, more sustainable methods of viticulture are just a few of the challenges that Séverine Frerson hopes to overcome in the next few years while relying on her passion and inspiration, as well as her incredible energy and creativity.
