General Honorary Consul of Monaco in Melbourne


In 2020, H.S.H. Prince Albert II elevated Mr Andrew Cannon AM to Consul General of Monaco in Melbourne, having been appointed by Prince Rainier III in 2002 as Honorary Consul.  In 2013, Andrew was made a Knight of the Order of Grimaldi.   In 2015, the Australian Government awarded Andrew with an Order of Australia for his significant service to the community and to Indigenous youth.  In 2007, Andrew was the Founding Chairman of the Cathy Freeman Foundation, which educates and supports remote Indigenous children.

 

In 2020, Andrew worked closely with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation in their support of the bushfire affected habitat and wildlife on Kangaroo Island.

 

Andrew has represented Australia in sport, including the America’s Cup, rowing and skiing.  Car racing is also a passion, and he competed in the 2014 Monaco Historics and at Le Mans.  Andrew is the Founding Chairman of a sports foundation, which supports Australian athletes.
